چکیده

This paper proposes a new photonic-based non-invasive device for managing of Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFUs) people suffering from diabetes. DFUs are one the main severe complications diabetes, which may lead to major disabilities, such as foot amputation, or even death. The proposed exploits hyperspectral (HSI) and thermal imaging measure status an ulcer, in contrast current practice where invasive biopsies often applied. In particular, these two techniques can estimate biomarkers oxyhaemoglobin (HbO2) deoxyhaemoglobin (Hb), through Peripheral Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) Tissue (StO2) is computed. These factors very important early prediction prognosis DFU. implemented at editions: in-home edition suitable patients PRO (professional) medical staff. latter equipped with active photonic tools, tuneable diodes, permit detailed diagnosis treatment ulcer its progress. enriched embedding signal processing tools noise removal enhancing pixel accuracy using super resolution schemes. addition, machine learning framework adopted, deep structures, assist doctors understanding effect on be validated large scales three European hospitals (Charité–University Hospital Berlin, Germany; Attikon Athens, Greece, Victor Babes Timisoara, Romania) efficiency performance.
